1st Day of Preschool - Round 3
Mad dog T-shirt and light up super hero shoes!
The little bugger is off to his THIRD year of preschool. What a difference a year makes!! He is THE man now and has his "group" at preschool that he plays with. Total trouble.
Happy 3rd Birthday Sethie!! What a sad day that he missed his first day of preschool and it was his birthday too :( Despite the complete lack of sleep I've gotten over the past week, I decided I still had to at least try to make a great cake for the little guy. He helped me on Sunday to flour the pan and mix the batter while the other boys were out with Dad and I raced around on Monday to frost it and make it spectacular!
Cal was shocked Seth wasn't going to have a party. I told him Seth wasn't up for it and that we'd all go to Chuck E Cheese (Seth's favorite) when he was feeling better.
Even though he's barely eating anything else, he did eat some cake and ice cream!
Loved this gift from Grammy and Grampy Gotlieb!!
This tonsil recovery isn't going as smoothly as I planned. I planned for a lot of crying and a lot of sleep! I specifically remember Ben screaming his head off until I'd put him in his crib (he couldn't talk yet) and he would pass out and sleep for hours after his surgery. Not so with Seth. Thank goodness for the spectacular results I know this surgery is going to produce because right now I am cursing that I have one more week to go. Seth decided last Friday to stop taking meds. I'm using suppository for his pain meds STILL six day later. We scrapped the antibiotic completely since he just spits it back out at me. One day he ate nothing but five mini muffins. I literally sit by him every second of every minute with a sippy cup in my hand saying, "Can you take a sip now? Just one. Ok, I'll hide the treasure then you take a sip. You found it? Ok, take a sip and I'll hide it again". A half an hour later, our sips have added up to an ounce! He's supposed to be drinking 20 ounces per day!! Not to mention I have to try and get him to eat too. That goes something like this, "Would you like some soup?" No. "Some ice cream? A popsicicle? Pudding?" Nothing. I think I ruined yogurt for him forever. I mixed some of the amoxicillin in it last week and now he goes beserk if I ask him if he wants yogurt. Nighttime isn't going much better. He'll wake up moaning and still have two hours to go before the next dose of medicine. So I just have to lay there next to him until he goes back to sleep. One night I tried not waking him up for doses every four hours. Luckily that night he didn't wake up either so I got one night of decent sleep only to pay like hell for it in the morning. His throat, ears, head was so sore that he didn't eat or drink for hours after he got up. Oops.
