BTR, First Day of School, and Surgery...

Here are my not so stellar pics of our Big Time Rush concert.  I had asked this lady who was taking awesome pics beside us to email me some and so far she hasn't.  I guess it's still a possibility but I'm kind of bummed that we don't have anything that we can REALLY see so the boys can remember their first REAL concert.  The concert itself was actually very fun!  It was unfortunate that it happened to be the night of the first day of school though.  We brought the boys to Hampton Beach (it was in the casino ballroom) and told them at dinner what we'd be doing.  They were super excited but as soon as we got in the place, it was a 100 degrees at least, and they realized they'd be doing A LOT of waiting I think the excitement kind of fizzled out.  Cal was exhausted before we even started.  Two bands opened - Lilly Halpurn (?) and Hot Chelle Rae which was actually kind of nice since the boys know and like the "Tonight Tonight" song.  At 8:30pm when they were still "testing" for BTR to come on, the whole crowd started booing.  The average age of the kids were between 6-12 I'd say.  Lots of younger ones there that I didn't expect.  I thought it would be tons of teenage girls.  They made a speedy entrance, within 2 mins, of the booing and played almost all their songs.  I guess that's feasible when you only have 15!  haha...what the boys remember most?  The fireworks outside of the concerts on the beach afterwards...no kidding!!

Cal and Ben at the BTR concert!  Did I mention we got a major workout and I lost some serious water weight at this concert?!  Yeah, it was impossible for the kids to see just standing.  So we have to lift them up the ENTIRE concert.  It was so hot already and with the effort and body heat I was drenched within two minutes!

FIRST DAY OF 1ST GRADE

Cal was happy to start school.  He's got one of the new hire teachers this year.  I'm withholding judgement but so far I'm not overly impressed.  Cal's not jumping up and down about her either.  Sigh...maybe one of these years.

In other news, Seth had his tonsils and adenoids out on Tuesday.  Surgery went great.  The doc said they were both HUGE and that he'll have a much better airway to breathe now.  He said it should definitely take care of all his snoring/sleep issues!  Good to know because let me tell you...we're having a hell of time now that he's home.  He did ok in the hospital.  He was having a hard time keeping the pain medicine down and kept throwing up.  I did a decent job of getting him to take the regular tylenol on Wed and Thurs...but now it's Friday and he's done.  He's refusing to swallow just about anything liquid.  So we've moved on to my first ever suppository that I've had to give.  That was fun.  I guess it's better than 30 mins of crying and 1 drop swallowed though.  We're hanging in there though and hoping better times are coming soon!!!
