Germaphobes take note! and other misc stuff
Speaking of reading, I just read a phenomenal book, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. And you know what? It's another young adult fiction book/trilogy (you know like the twilight series)...I'm starting to think I should just delve into this stuff for middle schoolers...much more interesting. Hoping to have a crazy reading month or two. It's my goal to lose 4 pounds. The more I'm at the gym, the more I read!!!

What's it all about?
Well, hello there. Long time since I've written...seems to be getting fewer and fewer these days. But with Cal in school full time and Ben in preschool, there's not a whole lot to blog about. I re-read my New Year's post. Funny that in January I was commenting on snow, FINALLY. Yeah, we've been waist-deep in snow for the better part of two months now, think we're done with that!! Cal had a TERRIFIC year of skiing. Aside from his one "wipeout", he's mastered the blue trails and loves it more than ever. We're hoping to get Ben on skis next winter. Although, after 10 minutes of full out crying just TALKING about riding a bike with no training wheels today, I'm thinking skiing might be a bit of a stretch for him. We'll see. BUT after promising him some Zhu Zhu pet clothes, Ben came down from the playroom an hour or so later and said, "Mommy, I want to ride my bike without the training wheels now". I'll believe it when I see it. He can be a stubborn little boy.
NO ONE, however, compares to the stubborness of Seth. The child is my nightmare. I currently dread going into any store with him. If we don't do things exactly as he desires, he's literally on the floor in a full-on scream. It's difficult to pick him up even. By the time we got to the other side of Market Basket today he'd simmered down and become his "cute, lovable" self again. One man looked at him and said, "Aw, what a beautiful child". Really?! REALLY?! It takes all my will not hit complete strangers sometimes. I mean, not his fault, but it really just gets on my nerves to hear that 5 minutes after a tantrum. So we move on to Toys R Us where I need to QUICKLY return something and get a birthday present and then move on out so we can get to music class...for Seth, I remind you. I know what you're thinking, who can quickly move a 2 1/2 year old through a toy store. I KNOW, MY BAD. I seriously had to restrain him in my arms kicking and screaming through half of the store just to pick out a present. Still not really sure how I carried and paid for it. He cried and screamed for 10 straight minutes in the car and I contemplated just going home. But I know, that Seth knows, how to be a complete angel when the time is right. So I tell him we're going in, no more crying. "Ok," he says. I go in and collapse, exasperated and goes right on to have a grand ole time. To add insult to injury, no one believes me that we've just had a hellish morning. "Seth?! NO!? I've never seen him cry before." Yeah, if I hear THAT one more time, I will cry.
In other news, Seth has been doing pretty well in his new bed. He gets up more than the others did. Like say, if it's 2:45am and he happens to wake up. He goes to his door, opens it, and starts crying. And he was missing quite a few naps and staying up later at night but all of that seems to be fading away as he's getting used to being in the bed. I think he really does love it. He gets right under his covers and gets all snuggly with his pillow and blanket. It took Ben months to even use a pillow or covers.
Ben is having fun in preschool and making a few good friends. Cal is about to audition for his first play on Tuesday. It's at a local theater downtown which puts on productions for kids by kids! Keep your fingers crossed and wish him luck! I'm already so proud of him that he memorized his monologue in three days and can recite it so well!!! Even if he doesn't get a part, he worked really hard.
Video of Seth singing, "That boy is a monster"...lyrics by Lady Gaga.
Because he IS a monster.
