It was bound to happen and yesterday was the day! Seth and I were home and I was trying to get some dishes done. I heard Seth rattling the puppy's crate and I told him to stop, which he did. He went off to play in the living as I obliviously continued on with the dishes. Seth was talking up a storm in the other room, saying "hello! hello!" among other things...giggles, fussing, etc. I'd shout out a few things like "What are you doing in there?" or "Are you on that couch - if you are, SIT DOWN" but never do I move from my faithful post at the sink scrubbing away. Finally, after about 10 mins I'm done and I go to take some recycleables out. As I round the island, I glance at the puppy as usual and she's not freaking there!!! I'm like OMG! So I run through the dining room where the puppy gate was down thinking, "please let her be in the living room". She could be ANYWHERE!?!?! I get to the living room and there they are...two little peas in a pod...Seth a little cautiously on one side of the living room, giggling away, and Pip bounding around on the carpet like she's never been out of the crate before in her life! It was SO hysterical. I couldn't even believe Pip had a partner in crime to let her loose.
Pip is doing well though. She's now up to 4 lbs and we're getting used to her routine. I am, however, allergic to the dog. Not too long after I suspected I was I went to the allergist to check. Sure enough, I'm allergic to cats, dogs, and every single tree, grass, weed pollen there is. My whole arm blew up like a balloon after the scratch test and they gave me Zyrtec before leaving the office and Prednisone to take home just in case it didn't get better. Awesome. The only thing I wasn't allergic to was mold...at least it's something! So I'm taking no action as far as the dog is concerned. Let's face it, if I can live with cats I can surely live with a dog. The allergist seems to think my reaction might get worse over time since I have limited exposure to dogs so we'll see. There's always Zyrtec.
I'm not going to lie, usually spring is not my favorite, but we've had such wonderful weather this year that it's been a delight! Being outside has been great. I'm so happy that my mom and I planted bulbs one October day last fall while the older boys were at the circus with Dad and Seth was napping. The tulips and daffodils look great and we're the only house around us with so much color! It's fantastic. More stuff has bloomed and it looks even better now. I have to say, I'm pretty proud of myself for going to Home Depot and getting some annuals (?) too. I spent a whole day planting planters and in the first row of our stone wall and it totally paid off!

Your puppy is very cute. They are a handful, but it only gets easier. How much do you expect him to grow?
